Rev. David Morris first discovered Unitarian Universalism at the U.U. Church of Charlotte, NC, where he was an active member before deciding to pursue the ministry. He was a founding member of the Southeast District’s original Anti-Racism Transformation Team and of the Council for Cross-Cultural Engagement convened in 2007 by UUA Moderator Gini Courter. He served for two years on the Southeast Regional Subcommittee for Candidacy of the UUA’s Ministerial Fellowship Committee, and on the Pacific Central District Board of Trustees.
Rev. David has served the Mt. Diablo Unitarian Universalist Church in Walnut Creek, CA and the Thomas Jefferson Memorial Church in Charlottesville, Virginia. David has a Master of Divinity degree from Duke Divinity School, a Bachelor of Music degree from Michigan State University, and did graduate studies in trumpet performance at the University of South Carolina. Before coming to the ministry David has been (among other things) a middle- and high-school music teacher, a college textbook editor and sales representative, a university office administrator, and a tile-setter’s assistant.
Rev. David Morris keeps office hours at the UUCOB Meetinghouse on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday afternoons. Appointments are recommended, and other times and locations are also available by appointment. Fridays are set aside for writing and study, and Mondays are his “sacred day off.”
